After my hot water heater burst & leaked inside my house, my plumber recommended American Response Team. Felipe was extremely helpful & professional, explaining everything at every step of the water mitigation process. He came almost daily to check on the equipment & answer questions. All the moisture was successfully eliminated & now I am just waiting on repairs. I hope I won't their services again, but if I do I will definitely use this company. On the eve of a long-planned vacation, a leak in my roof (overhead plumbing) caused my family room ceiling to crash into the floor, causing a huge mess and no small amount of panic. Based on nothing more than good Google reviews, I called American Restoration and within 20 minutes, Felipe was there to assess the situation, develop a plan of action, call in help to clean up the mess, and make me confident enough to leave things in his hands while I enjoyed my trip. Based on 205 reviews We had an excellent experience with American Response Team. After discovering a leak in the our bathroom we contacted ART. Christian and his team did an excellent job of identifying the problem, containing the issue and guiding us through the process. Moises was very helpful with handling insurance related activities and the business side of things. Jesus was awesome as project coordinator overseeing repairs, restoration and communicating with subcontractors. They all were very professional, respectful of our home and responsive to our needs. Great job! Cheryl M. American Response Team (ART) responds quickly and does good quality work. I had a leak in one of my ground floor bathrooms which damaged part of the wall and some of the flooring in a nearby hallway, and ART helped mitigate the water damage and replace the flooring. During the reconstruction process, a couple more leaks/water damage were identified in other parts of the house, along with some plumbing issues, that ART also dealt with quickly and effectively. We did have a misunderstanding regarding the extent of the flooring reconstruction. In my initial conversation with ART, they offered to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor (so all the new flooring would match), but I declined this offer (knowing that this would cost more + be more disruptive to my tenants). I made clear that ONLY the damaged flooring should be replaced. ART then updated their plan/estimate in agreement with my request. However, at some point during the reconstruction process, a decision was made to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor, including the undamaged flooring in the family room and kitchen. I was not notified about this change of plans, and only discovered it after all the repairs had been completed. Of course I was frustrated, and contacted the ART contractors to ask why the initial agreement had not been followed. ART explained to me that it is extremely common to replace all the flooring, once the insurance company is involved and sending reimbursement payments....which I understand, but I was still upset that our initial agreement wasn't followed. ART did help negotiate with my insurance company to get additional reimbursement payments sent to me, which I appreciate. However, in this case I would advise A) clearly defining what exactly needs to be replaced/repaired, and B) double-checking that the agreed-upon repair/reconstruction plan is being followed, especially once the insurance company is involved. Ben A. We had American Response Team to fix water damage caused by a leak in the wall. It wasn't a great situation to be going through, but I was happier going through it with them. Everyone I worked with was friendly and cared about getting my house restored. Lupita M. This review is long overdue. We had to call American Response Team at the end of last year for water damage caused by a leak in the wall. It was a stressful situation, but after I filed a claim with the insurance, they handled everything. Everyone on the team was very professional. We first met with Manny, who came back as many times as needed to dry the water-damaged area. The restoration crew, managed efficiently by Arturo, was hardworking and super friendly. Thank you, American Response Team! Claire T. Amazing from start to finish! Initial assessment, communication, customer service...ALL positive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Shout out to Director of Operations, Jimmy! Melissa G. We've had to call on American Response Team twice now--both times for the same general area in our home. The first time was about 2.5 years ago, and unfortunately, a new leak developed in the same area recently, this time coming from the toilet. Understandably, I was initially concerned that this might have been due to the original installation--perhaps a reused wax ring or something missed. However, I really appreciated how the owner, Will, handled the situation. He took the time to personally speak with me, look up our original file, and even went as far as sending photos from the original job showing that the wax ring installed was indeed brand new. That level of follow-through and transparency was very reassuring. Both times we've used them, their response time and communication have been excellent. They were professional, efficient, and respectful of our home. While I obviously hope I won't need their services again anytime soon, it's a relief to know that if I do, I'll be in good hands. Highly recommend American Response Team for their integrity and customer service. Samuel C. Outstanding and professional company!! highly recommend to anyone looking for water remediation, and the best part is that they also handle repairs . manuel c. July 2024, pipe burst causing water damage to kitchen and 2 bathrooms. American Response Team handled the cleanup and repairs. 9 months later, work is complete. I would like to thank Moises Cibrian, Operations Manager, for coordinating the repairs. Thank you for your help and patience. In particular, however, I commend Arturo Meza, Project Coordinator. When things got dicey due to insurance issues, communication issues, work quality, etc., I could always count on Arturo to answer my calls for help in a matter of minutes. He was always able to resolve issues in a timely manner and keep me informed. Dependable, available, reliable, a true professional. And he kept me sane, seeing me through the entire process. Additionally, I want to thank all of the mitigation folks and vendors for their hard work. Maureen C. Called with a concern of mold from a leak and Tony came out the very next day. He was on time, respectful, professional, knowledgeable, thorough with his inspection, and most importantly he was honest! He was straight up with his findings - which was way better than I anticipated. Jimmy also came out a separate time for another mold concern in our bathroom. He was all the things Tony was and also gave me some really great advice that didn't require me to hire them. It such a breath of fresh air to have quality companies like this still exist where they are there to help and not trying to take advantage of you! If you're in need of (possible) mold assistance, call these guys!! You'll be so glad you did! Jessica D. This review is in response to the business owner's comment from my previous post: Hello William, Thank you for your response. However, I won't be changing my rating because my husband and I don't agree with the things you said. If you think my previous review was incorrect or an attempt to slander your business, sue me. I can show proofs that everything I said was true. Let's break down the discrepancies: You mentioned the wood was out of stock, your team looked for suppliers and settle where to buy it. But we already found a supplier who held the wood for us. In fact, the reason we chose that specific wood was because it was available in stock, within our budgeted cost per sqft, and could have it delivered by Dec 26th. We called your team from the wood store and have them exchange information with the seller, this was done from our phone while we were in the wood store. Your team didn't follow through. We would've chosen another wood if what we choose wasn't available. Also, your team did forget to work in our bathroom. They didn't come back to fix it until we called to make complaint. The floor replacement was already done several days prior to that. The sink has pre-existing condition? It was perfectly fine pre leak for more than 8 years. Your team demo the vanity & left it in our backyard for almost two months. The sink didn't fell apart until your team came along. You mentioned "free of charge" repeatedly. Let's be real, American Response Team received close to 50k from our homeowners insurance claim payout. Your company was well compensated for the work but why are you making it sounds like they are done for free. We, the homeowners, are the one who had to dealt with the hassle and inconveniences when it come to water damage. The damage and repair disturbs our day to day lives for months. We were moving from air bnb to hotels for several weeks due to reconstruction, the change in living arrangements was very challenging for our two young children. Your team could've advised us not to move out of the house yet if they can't start work right away. We only moved out because we were told they would start work right away and could be done within 2-3 weeks. But turned out they just wanted us to sign a contract. After we vacate our house, your team took 5 weeks to complete the job. Our children would've loved to spend Christmas in our own house had we known they won't be doing much work in our house that week anyway. Thank you for the work but please be upfront about what's getting done and when it will get done, there were so many ways things could've been handled better in our situation. Julia M.

Time is critical. Here’s what you should do immediately:
This action is crucial in preventing further damage to your property and belongings.
However, it’s important to assess the situation carefully before taking this step.
Ensure that doing so won’t put you in harm’s way; for instance, if there are signs of electrical hazards or if the flooding is severe, it may be wise to prioritize your personal safety over shutting off the water.
Water and electricity are a dangerous combination that can lead to severe injuries or even fatalities.
If water is pooling around electrical outlets, appliances, or wiring, it’s imperative to keep a safe distance.
Do not attempt to unplug any devices or switch off power sources if standing in water. Instead, prioritize your safety by evacuating the area and informing a professional who can handle the situation.
Remember, your well-being must always come first in scenarios involving potential electrical hazards.
Once you have ensured your safety and contained the immediate threat, the next step is to contact a professional restoration team.
Companies like American Response Team specialize in water damage restoration and possess the expertise, equipment, and certification needed to handle such emergencies effectively.
They can assess the situation thoroughly, provide necessary cleanup, and prevent further damage, ensuring your property is restored to its pre-damage condition.
It’s essential to approach your insurance company promptly after dealing with water damage.
Initiating the water damage insurance claim process can seem daunting, but assistance is available to navigate the complexities involved.
Many restoration companies, including ours, offer support in filing claims, ensuring that you provide all required documentation and evidence to maximize your coverage.
Taking swift action in this regard can significantly alleviate the financial burden and expedite your recovery process.
Water has soaked into walls, floors, or ceilings
Mold or mildew is visible or suspected
The source is from sewage or gray water
More than one room is affected
You plan to file an insurance claim
The appearance of mold or mildew is a clear indicator of excessive moisture in an environment.
Both mold and mildew are fungi that thrive in damp conditions, and their presence can pose serious health risks, including respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and other ailments, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems.
Recognizing these growths early on is crucial, as they can spread quickly if left untreated. It is essential to address the underlying moisture problem to effectively eliminate these fungi and restore a safe living environment.
Water damage originating from sewage or gray water poses unique challenges and hazards.
Sewage water contains harmful bacteria, viruses, and harmful contaminants that can lead to severe health risks if exposed.
Gray water, while less harmful than sewage, can still harbor pollutants and pathogens. Handling such water requires specialized cleaning and sanitization procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
It is crucial to approach such situations with caution, as improper handling can exacerbate health risks and lead to further contamination of the living space.
When water damage affects multiple rooms within a property, it indicates a more extensive issue that may require more significant intervention.
This widespread impact can make the situation increasingly complicated, as it often suggests a systemic problem, such as a plumbing failure or a compromised roof.
The challenge here lies not only in addressing the visible damage but also in identifying and rectifying the root cause to prevent future occurrences.
Additionally, the presence of water across multiple areas can exacerbate the growth of mold and other fungi, increasing the urgency for effective remediation.
Deciding to file an insurance claim following water damage is often a critical step in mitigating financial loss and facilitating necessary repairs.
However, the claims process can be complex and may require thorough documentation of the damage, as well as evidence of costs associated with remediation and restoration.
It is essential to meticulously record the extent of the damage, capture photographs, and maintain receipts for repairs or temporary accommodations.
Understanding your policy’s coverage and working closely with your insurance adjuster will help ensure that you navigate this process effectively and receive the compensation needed to restore your property.
A small spill on surfaces like tile or linoleum generally refers to an accidental discharge of liquid, which can occur in various settings, such as kitchens, bathrooms, or other areas where such flooring is common.
Thanks to the non-porous nature of these materials, they are specifically designed to resist staining and retain their integrity despite exposure to spills.
This resistance makes clean-up relatively straightforward and efficient, often requiring little more than a cloth and a suitable cleaning solution to restore the surface to its original state.
One of the key advantages of tile and linoleum is their rapid drying capability.
In the event of a spill, the surface can be dried thoroughly within a few hours, especially if proper cleaning methods are employed.
Utilizing absorbent towels or a mop can help expedite the process, preventing any residual moisture that could lead to further issues.
This expediency not only minimizes inconvenience but also ensures that the area is safe and ready for use in a timely manner.
In situations where the spill has occurred solely on tile or linoleum, there is typically no risk of damage to porous materials or structural components in the vicinity.
Unlike wood, carpet, or drywall, which can absorb liquids and suffer long-term structural damage or promote microbial growth, tiles and linoleum act as barriers.
The integrity of the underlying materials is preserved, thereby safeguarding the overall construction and reducing the risk of costly repairs.
The absence of mold, unpleasant odors, or discoloration following a spill is a testament to effective clean-up procedures and the non-porous quality of tile and linoleum.
Mold thrives in damp environments, particularly where organic materials are present to fuel its growth.
Since these types of flooring do not provide a conducive environment for mold development, any moisture can be quickly addressed before it leads to organic decay.
Moreover, maintaining the original coloration of the tile or linoleum indicates that the materials are resilient and that the cleaning methods used did not cause any adverse effects.
If you’re unsure, we offer free inspections to determine the right solution.
Mold grows in 24–48 hours
Wood framing and drywall begin rotting
Electrical systems may short or become unsafe
Bad smells and indoor air quality decline
Insurance claims can be denied for “delayed action”
