Excellent rating
Based on 205 reviews We had an excellent experience with American Response Team. After discovering a leak in the our bathroom we contacted ART. Christian and his team did an excellent job of identifying the problem, containing the issue and guiding us through the process. Moises was very helpful with handling insurance related activities and the business side of things. Jesus was awesome as project coordinator overseeing repairs, restoration and communicating with subcontractors. They all were very professional, respectful of our home and responsive to our needs. Great job! Cheryl M. American Response Team (ART) responds quickly and does good quality work. I had a leak in one of my ground floor bathrooms which damaged part of the wall and some of the flooring in a nearby hallway, and ART helped mitigate the water damage and replace the flooring. During the reconstruction process, a couple more leaks/water damage were identified in other parts of the house, along with some plumbing issues, that ART also dealt with quickly and effectively. We did have a misunderstanding regarding the extent of the flooring reconstruction. In my initial conversation with ART, they offered to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor (so all the new flooring would match), but I declined this offer (knowing that this would cost more + be more disruptive to my tenants). I made clear that ONLY the damaged flooring should be replaced. ART then updated their plan/estimate in agreement with my request. However, at some point during the reconstruction process, a decision was made to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor, including the undamaged flooring in the family room and kitchen. I was not notified about this change of plans, and only discovered it after all the repairs had been completed. Of course I was frustrated, and contacted the ART contractors to ask why the initial agreement had not been followed. ART explained to me that it is extremely common to replace all the flooring, once the insurance company is involved and sending reimbursement payments....which I understand, but I was still upset that our initial agreement wasn't followed. ART did help negotiate with my insurance company to get additional reimbursement payments sent to me, which I appreciate. However, in this case I would advise A) clearly defining what exactly needs to be replaced/repaired, and B) double-checking that the agreed-upon repair/reconstruction plan is being followed, especially once the insurance company is involved. Ben A. We had American Response Team to fix water damage caused by a leak in the wall. It wasn't a great situation to be going through, but I was happier going through it with them. Everyone I worked with was friendly and cared about getting my house restored. Lupita M. This review is long overdue. We had to call American Response Team at the end of last year for water damage caused by a leak in the wall. It was a stressful situation, but after I filed a claim with the insurance, they handled everything. Everyone on the team was very professional. We first met with Manny, who came back as many times as needed to dry the water-damaged area. The restoration crew, managed efficiently by Arturo, was hardworking and super friendly. Thank you, American Response Team! Claire T. Amazing from start to finish! Initial assessment, communication, customer service...ALL positive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Shout out to Director of Operations, Jimmy! Melissa G. We've had to call on American Response Team twice now--both times for the same general area in our home. The first time was about 2.5 years ago, and unfortunately, a new leak developed in the same area recently, this time coming from the toilet. Understandably, I was initially concerned that this might have been due to the original installation--perhaps a reused wax ring or something missed. However, I really appreciated how the owner, Will, handled the situation. He took the time to personally speak with me, look up our original file, and even went as far as sending photos from the original job showing that the wax ring installed was indeed brand new. That level of follow-through and transparency was very reassuring. Both times we've used them, their response time and communication have been excellent. They were professional, efficient, and respectful of our home. While I obviously hope I won't need their services again anytime soon, it's a relief to know that if I do, I'll be in good hands. Highly recommend American Response Team for their integrity and customer service. Samuel C. Outstanding and professional company!! highly recommend to anyone looking for water remediation, and the best part is that they also handle repairs . manuel c. July 2024, pipe burst causing water damage to kitchen and 2 bathrooms. American Response Team handled the cleanup and repairs. 9 months later, work is complete. I would like to thank Moises Cibrian, Operations Manager, for coordinating the repairs. Thank you for your help and patience. In particular, however, I commend Arturo Meza, Project Coordinator. When things got dicey due to insurance issues, communication issues, work quality, etc., I could always count on Arturo to answer my calls for help in a matter of minutes. He was always able to resolve issues in a timely manner and keep me informed. Dependable, available, reliable, a true professional. And he kept me sane, seeing me through the entire process. Additionally, I want to thank all of the mitigation folks and vendors for their hard work. Maureen C. Called with a concern of mold from a leak and Tony came out the very next day. He was on time, respectful, professional, knowledgeable, thorough with his inspection, and most importantly he was honest! He was straight up with his findings - which was way better than I anticipated. Jimmy also came out a separate time for another mold concern in our bathroom. He was all the things Tony was and also gave me some really great advice that didn't require me to hire them. It such a breath of fresh air to have quality companies like this still exist where they are there to help and not trying to take advantage of you! If you're in need of (possible) mold assistance, call these guys!! You'll be so glad you did! Jessica D. This review is in response to the business owner's comment from my previous post: Hello William, Thank you for your response. However, I won't be changing my rating because my husband and I don't agree with the things you said. If you think my previous review was incorrect or an attempt to slander your business, sue me. I can show proofs that everything I said was true. Let's break down the discrepancies: You mentioned the wood was out of stock, your team looked for suppliers and settle where to buy it. But we already found a supplier who held the wood for us. In fact, the reason we chose that specific wood was because it was available in stock, within our budgeted cost per sqft, and could have it delivered by Dec 26th. We called your team from the wood store and have them exchange information with the seller, this was done from our phone while we were in the wood store. Your team didn't follow through. We would've chosen another wood if what we choose wasn't available. Also, your team did forget to work in our bathroom. They didn't come back to fix it until we called to make complaint. The floor replacement was already done several days prior to that. The sink has pre-existing condition? It was perfectly fine pre leak for more than 8 years. Your team demo the vanity & left it in our backyard for almost two months. The sink didn't fell apart until your team came along. You mentioned "free of charge" repeatedly. Let's be real, American Response Team received close to 50k from our homeowners insurance claim payout. Your company was well compensated for the work but why are you making it sounds like they are done for free. We, the homeowners, are the one who had to dealt with the hassle and inconveniences when it come to water damage. The damage and repair disturbs our day to day lives for months. We were moving from air bnb to hotels for several weeks due to reconstruction, the change in living arrangements was very challenging for our two young children. Your team could've advised us not to move out of the house yet if they can't start work right away. We only moved out because we were told they would start work right away and could be done within 2-3 weeks. But turned out they just wanted us to sign a contract. After we vacate our house, your team took 5 weeks to complete the job. Our children would've loved to spend Christmas in our own house had we known they won't be doing much work in our house that week anyway. Thank you for the work but please be upfront about what's getting done and when it will get done, there were so many ways things could've been handled better in our situation. Julia M.

Water Damage Remediation
This review covers the two water leaks at my condo during the past 4+ months. The water heater was replaced since I thought that it was leaking. About a week afterwards, I noticed that the carpet was very damp again. My plumber also noticed that the drywall adjacent to the water heater was very damp. He suggested that I call America Response to remediate the water damage caused by a leak from the upstairs condo. Christian from American Response set up fans with a dehumidifier for a four day dry out period. The reconstruction team from American Response removed the damaged drywall and observed the source of the leak from the upstairs water heater. The upstairs owner then presumably had the leaky pipe repaired. The reconstruction team did a fantastic job with the repairs (new drywall with insulation, retexturing with painting, and reassembly of affected cabinets and backsplash). American Response deserves a 5 stars rating in terms of communications and excellent work quality. Unfortunately, the repair didn’t hold, so I had to call American Response to deal with a repeat water damage control recently. They again responded quickly and dried out the walls and carpeting to prevent any growth of mold/pathogens. I highly recommend American Response to deal with any water damage scenarios quickly and professionally so that you can have “peace of mind.” Thank you, American Response Team.

water damage services
Jimmy and Tony came out for 2 separate issues. Both were on time, very knowledgeable, thorough in their inspection, and very honest about their findings. They gave advice about how we could resolve the minor issues ourselves and didn’t require hiring them. This company is truly looking to help people and not just be hired for the money. If you’re looking for a knowledgable company with their honest opinion, call these guys! I’m so glad I did!

San Diego's Water Damage Risks and Historic Flooding Events
Water damage restoration in San Diego addresses both common household water problems and significant regional flooding risks that have affected thousands of properties throughout the county.
The January 22, 2024 Historic Flood
San Diego experienced its fourth wettest day since 1850 when 2.73 inches of rain fell in 24 hours. This devastating storm caused widespread flooding along Chollas Creek and in vulnerable neighborhoods like Southcrest, Mountain View, and Encanto. Over 800 homes were damaged, requiring extensive water damage restoration in San Diego.
Ongoing Infrastructure Challenges
The January 2024 flooding revealed the fragile state of San Diego’s aging stormwater infrastructure. Many neighborhoods continue to face flood risks due to limited drainage capacity and inadequate maintenance of critical systems. Professional water damage restoration in San Diego becomes essential when these systems are overwhelmed.
Climate Change and Increased Flood Risk
Climate scientists predict more intense storm events for Southern California. San Diego’s unique geography, with numerous canyons and waterways, creates specific challenges that require expert water damage restoration in San Diego when extreme weather occurs.
Understanding Water Damage Categories in San Diego Properties
The ANSI/IICRC S500 standard categorizes water damage into three types. Each requires specific water damage restoration in San Diego approaches:
Category 1 - Clean Water Damage
Clean water originates from sanitary sources like broken water supply lines, overflowing sinks, or rainwater. While initially safe, clean water becomes contaminated within 24-48 hours without proper water damage restoration in San Diego.
Category 2 - Gray Water Contamination
Gray water contains contaminants that may cause illness upon contact. Sources include washing machine overflows, dishwasher leaks, toilet overflows with urine, and sump pump failures. This category requires enhanced safety procedures during water damage restoration in San Diego.
Category 3 - Black Water Emergencies
Black water is grossly contaminated with harmful bacteria, viruses, and toxins. Sources include sewage backups, flooding from rivers like the San Diego River or Tijuana River, and stagnant standing water. This dangerous category requires specialized Sewage Cleanup and professional water damage restoration in San Diego.

Specialty drying equipment for hardwood floors and structural materials
Continuous moisture monitoring with calibrated meters
We follow EPA guidelines requiring materials to be dried within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.
Step 4 - Cleaning and Sanitization
All affected areas receive thorough cleaning using EPA-approved antimicrobial treatments. This step eliminates bacteria, prevents mold growth, and ensures your San Diego home is safe for reoccupancy.
Step 5 - Restoration and Reconstruction
The final phase of water damage restoration in San Diego brings your property back to pre-damage condition. This may include minor repairs like replacing drywall or major reconstruction of severely damaged areas.
Why Fast Water Damage Restoration in San Diego Is Critical
The 24-Hour Mold Prevention Window
According to IICRC standards, mold can begin growing within 24-48 hours in moist conditions. Here’s what happens without immediate water damage restoration in San Diego:
0-24 Hours
Water absorbs into porous materials. Paint starts bubbling. Wood begins expanding and warping.
24-48 Hours
Mold spores activate and begin growing. Drywall softens and may sag. Metal surfaces start rusting.
48-72 Hours
Visible mold colonies appear. Wood floors cup and crown. Strong musty odors develop throughout affected areas.
1 Week+
Extensive Mold Remediation becomes necessary. Structural damage may require major reconstruction and significantly increase costs.
Protecting Property Values in San Diego
Unaddressed water damage significantly reduces property values in San Diego’s competitive real estate market. Professional water damage restoration in San Diego preserves your investment and prevents long-term structural problems.
Health and Safety Protection
Standing water creates serious health hazards from bacterial growth and contamination. Our water damage restoration in San Diego includes proper sanitization protocols to protect your family’s health and wellbeing.
